I have a couple of Samsung LCD displays that have Scart, composite and VGA support as well as a TV tuner built in. They display any of my retro computers (some better than others). I would like to use the 80 column mode on these monitors if I could - they can display a 1024x768 screen no problem.
Is there any way of convincing the 128 to display on these screens, is there a converter out there? I've seen a couple of home made ones on the web, but nothing for sale.
You can use this www.bit-c-128.com/buy or this gglabs.us/node/2022 along with a Gonbes 8200 to convert the digital RGBI of the 80 column display to analog CGA and then upscale it to VGA. I have this for my PCjr and it works well, although I did have to adjust some pots on the Gonbes unit to get the colors right.
