What's the cost and how easy is it to obtain/setup/etc.?
I have a MisTer and I like using it (but I only do so more of a tinkering thing rather than everyday use).
It's relatively expensive emulation solution though if you were to use it just for C64 - the DE-10 unit (about $90USD, i think) and then you want an IO Board with the fan (the unit runs hot) and then the SDRAM memory expansion and a USB hub. This would take you easily past $150USD.
Hardware aside, setting it up is straight forward, though the C64 core is not as mature as some of the more popular software emulators at this stage (but always being improved).
I own a Ultimate 64, MisTer, and a Turbo Chameleon V1.
With the MisTer alot having the ability to recreate various classic computers, game consoles and arcade machines is awesome! If your a retro collector (not just commodore machines) its worth purchasing.
The Ultimate64 speaks for itself.... Utlimate! It gets most of my usage...
The Turbo Chameleon cartridge can also be used in stand-alone mode without a C64. It's fine, better if you also purchase the Chameleon Docking station.
